Intentional Cross-Generationality

What is the mind of Christ regarding our current reality?

This is the defining question for us as we move through this season of discernment. We are discerning together through 4 weekly questions that will speak to this question, through our core values, over the month. If you missed the first blog, you can read it here https://www.thebridgechurch.net/post/what-is-the-mind-of-christ-regarding-our-current-reality

This week’s question is:

What is the mind of Christ regarding intentional cross-generationality?

This speaks to our core value of Intentional Cross-Generationality. Through our intense focus on Family ministries, and through our core belief that the church does not exist in isolated demographic slices, we practice intentionality about bringing the generations together to worship, serve and grow as the body of Christ.

Take a look at our music teams – they represent our demographics here at The Bridge Church. Our Family ministries teams are made up in a similar manner. This is no accident – it is intentional. Having our children join us for Communion is also intentional as we believe it is important that they worship around the table with us because it is Jesus’ table.

Here's a link to a brief article about a biblical theology of intergenerational ministry that you may find helpful in your discernment: https://s3.amazonaws.com/media.cloversites.com/5b/5b3c548e-bd63-47d7-b7bb-4d4963bbdb91/documents/A_BIBLCAL_THEOLOGY_OF_INTERGENERATIONAL_MINISTRY.pdf

If you would like a starting point for some scripture passages to meditate on,

Deuteronomy 6:1-9 Psalm 71:17-18 Psalm 78

Psalm 145:4 Obviously, there are others and follow the Spirit’s leading in your scripture reading and meditation.

Remember church, we need you. We need your voice – your life experience – your encounters with the living Christ to help us discern the mind of Christ in our current reality.

Praying for you this week.
